BTNet Wires Only

Hiya,

I had a wires only connection activated yesterday, but appear to be missing any sort of setup guide for what is expected configuration on my end.

All I have been sent so far is the non directly connected subnet information. I do not have a wan IP or info in order to setup a gateway/bgp link.

Is there any setup guide around?

EDIT: Product is the 1000BaseSX Leased Line, Wires Only

Do you have a BTB Smart Hub 2?  And which broadband package do you have?

Try Googling

BT "wires only" "leased line"

Is this any help?

Ye I found that,

After calling BT, they had just failed to provide a part of the information. Got it working somewhat now, but speeds are far below.

For history - here is a quick breakdown of how to setup the primary IP:

Here is the info BT Provide in an email:
IPv4 Non-Directly Connected Section
IPV4 Network Address    : 224.xx.xx.93
IPV4 Network Mask               : 255.255.255.248
IPV4 Next Hop Address   : 78.xx.xx.139

Here is how you actually setup on the router

(external) IP Address: 78.xx.xx.140
Netmask: 255.255.255.254 (May display as /31)
Gateway: 78.xx.xx.139

Then route alias the additional network addresses via the primary network.

I also had to disable auto-negotiation and set a fixed link speed.
