Hello everyone,
I'm facing an issue with my Dell Latitude 7400 connected to a router via a Dell Thunderbolt Dock WD22TB4. The connection speed is limited to 100Mbps, even though the router's port auto-negotiation is enabled and both 100Mbps and 1Gbps speeds are advertised. Other ports on the router achieve 1Gbps without issues.
Here are some details:
PC: Dell Latitude 7400
Dock: Dell Thunderbolt Dock WD22TB4
OS: Windows 10
Cable: Cat5e
Network Controller: Realtek Gbit with "Adaptive link speed" enabled
I've ensured the cable is in good condition and checked the Realtek Gbit Controller settings. Despite this, the connection remains at 100Mbps. Any insights or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Has anyone experienced a similar issue?
Thanks in advance
I’d bet on either the dock firmware needing an update or a quirky auto-negotiation issue. Try forcing the speed to 1Gbps in the Realtek settings or swapping out the cable , sometimes it’s the simplest things that trip us up. Keep us posted if it works!
