Recently replaced our Smart Hub 2 with a BT Business Smart Hub 3. The UI in the Hub Manager is not so different except there is no option to rename devices like there was on the Smart Hub 2. This is massively frustrating as I need to know what devices are active at a given time and now have to go by their MAC address... I feel like I must be missing something obvious here but it seems there is no rename device option.
Is this the case and if not, how is such a basic thing done?
Hi Kart
You can rename devices but it must be done via the BT Business App rather than in the Smart Hub 3 Hub Manager.
I hope this helps.
Thanks Beth but as I am not on a business account it won't let me log into the app. Is there no way around this? You could do it on the old hub without having to resort to an app!
Hi Kart
No I'm sorry it must be done via the app I've been advised.
Thanks for the info Beth. Is there a 'dummy' or default btbusiness password/email not linked to anything I can use to login to the app so I can actually manage my new router properly?
Hi Kart, no I'm afraid that's not possible. If you need any further help with this, please send me a private message so we can discuss further.
Thanks for your help Beth, it is very disappointing that the latest (and most expensive) Smart Hub has such an important feature removed, one which has been standard on even budget routers including all the old BT models. Please feedback to the software developers that adding the ability to rename devices from the Hub Manager should really be readded as has been standard in the past.
