I have just joined the community. Like other posts I kept my btconnect email address when I retired 17 years ago and other than having to transfer to the Outlook platform in 2021 it has not been a problem. Two weeks ago on holiday in US Microsoft informed that my email was locked and I need to contact my Administrator to open it.
I have spent hours trying to do this and even employed a IT Techie to help me. He concluded the same thing that BT have to unlock. I have spoken with BT Business but I cannot provide them with the required security so they will not do anything . All my folders, emails , contacts are there and I want to transfer them to a new email address I have set up. I very worried this information will be hacked or deleted by BT. I am 82 years old so my IT skills are probably no as good as most on this forum

Only my BT residential broadband now with EE and my mobile phone also with bBT.
My BT Connect mail is blocked so I have created a new email fred.warner43@outlook. com
My main worry is all the information left in my blocked btconnect email some very confidential medical and financial stuff. I am very worried
