Hi,
I have a Legacy BT email address (@btconnect.com) which is a leftover from my many years with BT. Over the last year I received some spam/phishing emails about verifying my account. I always reported them to BT phishing and thought nothing about them. However, yesterday I received another saying final after which I couldn't log into my email, when I try to log in I receive the following message. ''Your account has been locked. Contact your support person to unlock it, then try again'' I don't have any IT at my end so assume it has been locked at either the BT end or at Microsoft. Any help please?
Hi cocker916
As this is a legacy @btconnect.com address, I'd recommend contacting technical support so they can check the status of the mailbox and advise on any recovery options available.
We wouldn't email you to ask you to verify your email address by clicking a link, so you've done the right thing by reporting those as phishing attempts. For anyone else reading this who may get these types of emails, you can report abuse and phishing via these steps - https://www.bt.com/help/security/how-to-report-abuse-and-phishing
