7590 with BT Business IP Phone

I just upgraded my broadband to full fibre and I’ve been given a hub and a Yealink DECT IP Phone (W73P).

I have been provided with my username and password by BT so I have swapped out the provided hub with my 7590 and everything is fine with it. However, does anybody know if the IP Phone can be used with the 7590? If it can, does anybody know what I need to do? If it cannot, can I just use a normal DECT phone connected to the 7590?

To use your Yealink DECT IP Phone (W73P) with the 7590 router, you should be able to configure it by following these general steps.

Use a web browser to navigate to the router’s IP address, which is typically 192.168.0.1 for many routers. Log in with your router’s credentials.
In the router interface, look for DECT settings. This is where you can manage and register DECT devices.
Start the registration process on your Yealink W73P handset. This usually involves navigating through the handset’s menu to the registration option and selecting the base station to connect to.
If the router asks for a PIN during the registration process, enter the default PIN or the one you have set for your router.
Once the handset is registered, it should display a confirmation message or symbol indicating that it is connected to the base station.

If you encounter any issues, consult the user manual for your Yealink W73P, which should provide detailed instructions on connecting to a DECT-compatible router. Additionally, the FRITZ!Box 7590 router’s knowledge base offers guidance on setting up telephones, including DECT phones.

In case the Yealink DECT IP Phone is not compatible with the 7590 router, you can indeed use a normal DECT phone connected to the router, as the 7590 supports DECT phones and allows for easy registration through its interface.

Remember to ensure that any device you connect is compatible with the standards supported by your router.
