Hello there.
Our business has very recently changed from BT analogue to voice cloud express, which we are very happy with. Unfortunately part of our previous set-up included a Bell systems BT1 door intercom, which essentially plugged in to the old analogue line and would ring the internal phones when someone pressed the call button outside and enable conversation between the handsets. Obviously this doesnt now work. We really need to keep this device; its not physically ideal to change to a GSM type intercom. I (foolishly, I think) have purchased from Ebay a Cisco ATA 192 adaptor in the expectation that this would solve it. Although I have yet to receive the Cisco unit I now believe that it won't function with the BT voice system without changing various settings which only BT are privy to. I think the only solution is get a unit direct from BT, although they only seem to stock the ATA 191 currently. I do however need to be sure that the BT supplied adaptor will indeed function with my BT1 unit. Is it reasonable to assume that if the Cisco device is set up correctly by BT then all should be well? A (possible) additional complication lies in the fact that although we were supplied with a Business smart hub 3 , due to the fact that we are running a BT mesh system of 6 white discs which are incompatible with the Hub 3, we have retained the Hub 2, which is operating perfectly. btw.
Sorry about the long post...but any input would be welcome. Thanks
