Have paid for but not received Moutain Lion update. Apple states BT problem with router. Bt confirms. Being ignored. Anybody else had the same problem??
Hi Vectis,
There is a problem with the BT 2wire 2700 and 2701 routers.
There is a fix for this though.
If you open a browser, type:
http://192.168.1.254 or the default gateway of your router if this is different.
Click - settings - broadband - link configuration.
Change ATM Encapsulation to bridged LLC. Untick ATM PVC Search.
Change connection type to direct ip.
Click Save.
Enter your router password, default is the serial number. This will display configuration successful. Scroll down to the button and untick routing. Click save again.
Next, click on the finder icon, click the apple symbol - system preferences - network - click the plus - select PPPoE - create the connection. Enter your broadband username and password into account name and password and connect.
Download mountain lion.
At this point attempt to access 192.168.1.254, if this works:
Click - settings - broadband - link configuration.
Scroll down to the button and tick routing. Click save.
Enter your broadband username and password.
Change ATM Encapsulation to Router VC-MUX. Tick ATM PVC Search.
Change connection type to PPPoA.
Click Save.
Go back to finder - apple - system preferences - network and remove the temporary PPPoE connection setup.
Thanks,
Steve
