I'm posting this again because the forum account registration system barfed and wouldn't let me log in again, forcing me to register with another new account in order to post on this forum.
The moderator BethM did reply to my original post and I'd be grateful if she would reply to this one so that we can continue the conversation.
In my loft I've discovered an elderly Zenith Data Systems twin-floppy laptop that's been rebadged British Telecom. It must have been there 15 years or more, and I have no memory of its provenance.
The asset number sticker is present, and the name of the person it was issued to in 1988 is still written on it.
I tried calling BT's technical support to see if BT had any interest in it and was told that if I sent it back it would be recycled because there would be no records pertaining to it, as the machine dates from nearly 40 years ago.
I would like to spare it such a fate, but I don't want my collar felt by his Majesty's constabulary if I keep it.
Can anyone offer advice on how best to proceed?
Hi alfredthegrape1
Could you please send over a private message with some more details about the laptop? Ideally a photo if you could?
