Leaving BT early without paying cancellation fee?

Hi all,

I signed up to another contract with BT in December, then in January Virgin have launched in our area.

I currently play £44.66 per month for 120mbps Internet only. Which, when looking at the alternative £30 a month for 256mbps from Virgin, is a rip off.

Now I hear in April this bill will rise another 14.4% which takes the total bill north of £50 a month, just for Internet!

I read on their site if they increase the price mid contract I can give them 30 days notice and the cancellation fee is waived.

Has anyone had experience of this?

Hi,

Where applicable, annual CPI price increases are written into our terms and conditions, and you are asked to agree to these terms at the point of sale. An annual CPI related price increase does not allow you to leave your Contract early.

Thank you

Adam
