Hi,
We've configured our wireless network to recognise the MAC address of individual computers and allow access to just those devices without the need for passwords, etc.
In the past it was easy to add a new laptop / desktop's MAC address to allow the new device access to our network. However on trying to add a new device a couple days ago I can't find the option in our Home Hub management software to allow us to add a new device.
I can easily delete an existing device but there's no option that I can see for adding a new one.
Does anyone know how the management software can be instructed to recognse a new device's MAC code?
Many thanks,
Mark
Hi - thanks for the response. The devices connected to our network are business computers - hence posting in this forum.
So, why are you using a Home Hub?
What happened to the Business Hub that BT provided?
It's a home-based business. The Home Hub is as supplied by BT when we upgraded to fibre - they didn't install a Buisness Hub (presumably because the number of users was so small). BT maintain our web hosting and all work is undertaken from a home office.
So, you have a Home Hub which means it was supplied against a residential line. BT will provide a Business Hub for Business connections the number of users has nothing to do with it. A business connection with just one user will get a business hub.
My original comment stands - if yiu want advice of a Residential/Home products then ask in te Residential forums where people have experience of the device.
