Has there been any discussion on the alternatives to office365 for those of us who have no interest in it? I still have a btyahoo account as well which I have to maintain because of other yahoo activities such as yahoogroups and of cause I have to have a google email address just to keep them happy, but I have a primary email account that was created long before these distractions, and which was supported by BT via btclick, but it seems that I can no longer use this via BT? I've had a number of calls to BT taking up to 30 minutes to get connected, so I'm not going to bother ringing again ... a REAL email interface would be a lot more practical given the time phonecalls can take!
Currently I'm forwarding emails via my web hosting, but some traffic is being blocked, and we can't work out why. It seems to be related to the settings for our domain and the fact that the fixed IP address is returning BT rather than our domain name, but that is another problem area that no-one at BT seems to have any interest in, so is it time to finally kick BT into touch after over 20 years and go with a supplier who actually listens rather than telling us what we have to use?
Every ISP uses a mail hosting platform - OF THEIR CHOOSING. BT has chosen Microsoft365 ... do you really expect then to have several platforms to cater for people who want a different platform.
Does it really matter which platform is in use? Downloading emails to your choice of mail client can be undertaken on 365 a lot easier than some platforms out there.
I still have my BTclick email addresses - and ALL of them work on 365 - I just log in with @BTconnect.com. You were informed many years ago of the name change but that BTclick would remain.
Hi Isces,
There is not really an alternative, however in Office 365 you should be able to switch to the blind and low vision setting which is similar to our previous webmail.
1. Log into webmail.
2. Click Options.
3. General - then select blind and low vision option.
With regards to the IP address being blocked, if this is a static IP on your BT account then you can request Reverse dns by emailing reverse.dns@btbroadbandoffice.com, we need the IP address and Fully qualified domain name (e.g mail.yourdomain.com).
