After succesful use of on-demand (showcase, catch up etc) it stopped working recently.
After numerous phone calls with Sky and an engineer visit, Sky now tell me there is a known incompatibility with BT Busiiness Broadband.
I was connecting to the Sky Box by ethernet. The sky engineer donated a Sky wireless box and although it connects to BT Business hub, the on demand service 'fails'. The cable connection does the same.
Does anyone else suffer this problem please with BT business broadband and Sky plus?
Ask them to tell you exactly what teh "incompatibility is" and how they are going to resolve it.
BT Business Broadband through the router provides an Ethernet connection - that meets current standards. The modem provides the backhaul on an ADSL bearer through the BT network to a suitable peering point. How can BT Broadband be to blame?
I would suggest that he just did not know how to resolve it.
Thanks for the reaponse.
There is an issue - BT said today:
"Yes, this is a known issue if you're running your connection on wireless. You'll need to change your BT Router's wireless encryption to WPA or WPA PSK II, and use AES Encryption type if required.
If you're currently connected to the router via an RJ45 cable, then you may wish to turn off the router's wireless facility completely to see if that helps. "
I am going to persever with this, but first attempts have not resolved the problem.
So, not a BT Broadband issue, but with the hardware that is in use.
This was a difficult one, but I eventually discovered that by switching off the BT business router firewall temporarily that the sky on demand etc will connect. This solved a PS3 connectivity problem also.
Thanks for the responses - much appreciated.
