BT Business Fibre trial, Adobe download cutting out/file size cap?

Hi there,

I've been on the BT Business Fibre Trial for a couple of months and had little to no problems with it.

Last night though I tried to download the recently released trial of Adobe CS6 Production Suite. A 6GB file.

I tried to download it both through Adobes own download manager and as a direct link download through the built in Internet explorer 9 downloader and Firefox downloader.

In all instances the download started off very well, with estimated times of around 20 minutes to download. However, at approx half way through the download, at around 3GB through, the downloads would stop completely. The internet was still working and I could navigate to other sites (and Adobes sites), but the downloads wouldn't resume.

In the end I had to connect up my old ADSL line and download the file in 9hours+ at 1.5Mb 😞 Apart from the time issue, there was no problem getting the file, so I'm not convinced it's an issue with Adobe.com.

Is there some sort of limit that would cap a single file download?

Thanks

I intially misread your post and typed a reply ... but I wonder if there is a similar issue?

I presume when you say fibre trial you mean FTTH.

On ADSL/VDSL there was an issue with the BT supplied router - 2wire2700/2701 which failed with a file greater than 2GB. A firmware update reolved it.

With the fibre service, which router is supplied to you?

I don't think that there's a bandwidth cap set here. Were the settings modified prior to this?
