BT Business Hub and wireless computer name

Hi,

I am new to this forum, but wondered if anyone had experienced a problem I am having with my BT Business Hub.  It recognises the name of my desktop computer, but my laptop has both wired and wireless connections and has 2 IP addresses.  Because of this I have to specify the IP address when linking to the computer through remote desktop because it cannot resolve the name of my laptop. Does anyone know of a solution?

Hi imuac1,

Sorry to read about the problems that you are having with your set up.

What you would need to do is, unplug the cabled connection on the laptop.

Hope this is of help

Thanks

Hi Tracey,

Thanks for the response.

I've tried both wireless only connection and wired only connection, but the computer name still can't be resolved when using remote desktop, only the ip addresses work.  I've also found that I could not connect my Kindle to the wireless network without enabling mac address filtering, so maybe I'll have to look at the hub settings in more detail.

Hi imuac1,

If you were to speak to the BT Broadband Technical help team they would be able to offer further advice on this also.

Hope this helps
