BT DF 200 telephone/fax machine

 Not sure if this is the appropriate section [or even the correct forum] in which to post this message, but here goes.

I need a user guide for a BT DF 200 telephone/fax machine. I have spent many, many hours on the web  but there is very little information on this machine. On BT's web page there is an extensive user guide site but this machine is not listed. I have now contacted BT on three or four occasions asking for help but there is no response from them, I find the so called help process difficult to fathom! I did find out from the web that the machine was made for BT by Sagem, I have contacted them but again no response.

Does anyone know how I can get hold of a user guide for this machine?

Hi sheffield12 ,

I am sorry to hear of the trouble you have experiencined trying to find a user guide for the BT DF200.  I am assuming that you have had this produdct for some time, the reason I state this is that I can find no litirature on this product under BT although I did find the user guides for two new versions of the BT DF range.  This leaves one explanation that the BT DF200 is no longer in service and has been replaced with newer versions.

BT would not have the user guide for this as it seems it is too old.  However please give the DF450 helpdesk a call on 0800 215 200, they may be able to help and offer some advise.

Hi Sean, thank you for responding.

I called the number you gave but all I get is a recorded message giving a range of telephone numbers to dial for different services, none of which are remotely relevant to my query, you don't even get the option to hang on to speak to a real person! Are you aware of any other contact numbers i may try?

I am really sorry that the number I have provided was not of any help.  I have searched again for any help on this product and unfortunately as the product has been discontinued for some time the user guide is not available any longer and there is no product helpline you can call.

One possible avenue of support is our Helpdesk Soultion team which can be reached on 0870 2405029.  Now, I have called this number myself to ask if they can offer support on the BT DF but unfortunately this too is a recorded message.  However this number does provide you with another telephone number, it is however a premium rate number for out of warranty technical support. 

You could try giving this number a call but as I have said this product is well out of date so they may not be able to help.  If this fails then I am afraid I am out of ideas as to where you can get support for the BT DF200.

I called the premium rate number, very friendly but they have no info whatsoever on this model. I think its time to draw a line under this, many thanks for your advice and help. May I wish you a Happy Christmas and a peaceful and contented new year
