BT Hosting...general enquiry

Hi,

I'm thinking about setting up a small website to highlight my skills, nothing fancy just an on-line portfolio, the £5 package seems ideal?

I've read various reports about BT as a hosting company, I have to say some aren't favourable.

Hopefully I'll receive an un-biased response here?

What is your overall impression of BT hosting, any things I should be aware of, good and bad points etc.

I did read that BT websites weren't accessible in foreign countries, seems odd, but is this correct?

Any advice would be great.

Hi,

I use BT for pretty much everything business wise, including my web hosting.  I've got several hosting packages with them and I've used other hosting providers as well.

Overall, I'd say that their hosting packages are decent and the support that you get is second to none in my experience.

With regards to BT websites not being accessible in foreign countries, I've never heard anything of the like. I've had people get in touch with me from other countries so that implies that my sites are visible...

The only country it is not available in is China, but this is not the fault of BT and is likely to happen with any shared hosting server.
