I have just installed a structured cabling network for a customer, who have now added a BT Versatility unit, which BT have cabled into my installed patch panel. The company have not yet moved into the offices.
The company want to run three fax machines and a PDQ credit card machine. I have spoken to BT Versatility support this morning about requirements for connecting these devices to the network (and Versatility) , and have been advised that I need digital RJ-45 telephone adaptors for the Versatility 'phones and analogue RJ-45 telephone adaptors for the faxes and PDQ. My initial thought was that I needed an analogue card in the Versatility but BT Support said this was not necessary.
I have looked at these adaptors in the Excel catalogue and found three; PSTN Mastered, PABX Mastered and Secondary.
Would anyone be able to :-
a) confirm that I do not need an analogue card and -
b) advise which RJ-45 adaptors I need for Versatility 6 x V 'phones and fax machines?
Thank you
Dave
