Business Broadband REALLY slow

Hi

I have had business broadband for sometime in my house however the speed was so poor that I used that residential broadband that I have on another line instead as I got no-where with reporting a fault. I'm wondering if someone can help me work out what is going on.

I have a Netgear DG834G router attached to the line. I have speed tested the line and get the following results:

Download speed achieved during the test was - 0.1Mbps

For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.05 Mbps-0.25 Mbps

Additional Information:

Your DSL Connection Rate is :0.16Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0.45Mbps(UP-STREAM)

IP Profile for your line is - 0.14 Mbps

The residential line that I have to the house achieves 1.25Mbps Downstream - why is the Business BB so much slower? Is there a fault or am I expecting too much given they are connected to the same exchange?

Hi MGUK79,

The result shows as if the acceptable range, may be for your DSL modem, is between .05Mbps and .25Mbps. Usually for a good modem, the acceptable range of speed should be much higher than that is provided by the internet service provider. 0.25 seems to be a very small value and Netgear DG834G router does supports 108Mbit/sec operations. So I believe that it may be any cable error in your connection. Call the service personals so that they could fix your connetion.
