Hi. I've has a website running Wordpress no probs for a year or so and have decided I need to change the database password but am not succeeding. Any advice on what I'm not doing etc?
My process is:
1) Logon to the BT account admin site,
work through
'Manage my services'
'Manage Hosting and Online stores'
' Launch 'MySQL Manager'
Change the password for the one ID on the database (which is the ID referenced in wp-config)
2) Paste the same password over the top of the existing password in /private/wordpress/wp-config.php & save.
3) If I now try to access the blog, I get Database connection error.
4) Putting the old password back resolves the issue.
I've thought of 2 possible reasons:
1) It's almost as if I need to restart WP but according to the documentation I've managed to find, that isn't necessary/ possible.
2) Am I editing the wrong copy of wpconfig? Is there another copy of wp-config somewhere? I've looked (using ftp) but not found it.
Many thanks in advance.
Nigel.

Easy when you find the answer.
Searched again with FTP and found a wp-config.php that I'd not found before. Changed it and all works.
