Constant buzz on old line - HELP

I'm happily using my Broad band voice line but since connecting the 220V router I have a constant buzz on my old (non VoIP) phone - can you advise?

It sounds like you have some form of constant interference on your non-VoIP (PSTN) line. If it's just started when you connected your 220V and your 220V power transformer is close to your line socket, it may be causing this interference.

Try moving the 220V transformer away from your telephone line socket and let me know if that clears up your problem.

If the router is the variable, thats your point to start checking around.. as Mini Cheddar suggests a electrical hum is usually caused by the line picking up a electrical field. Your line may have a faulty earth contact, or your internal wiring may be suspect. How many sockets on the line?
