Download speeds up and down since Monday.

Hi,

Can anyone help me, Ive noticed since monday the download speeds are up and down all the time when downloading a file. Ive done speedtests on speedtest.net and its the same, the download is up and down for example starts on 90 then back down to 28 and up again until finishing eventually. We had a new line put in on Tuesday casue the original line got knocked down, I thought it would be to do with that but this problem occured Monday so it might not be. Is there a problem with broadband in the Burton on Trent area?

I think it may have something to do with my noise margins they are hitting really low numbers like downstream 0.3db, its at 2.8db at the moment. I think that maybe my problem, how do you cure this. My upstream by the way is a steady 5.8db.

If you are referring to up and down speeds when downloading a single file, it is normal for its speed to go up and down. 

Basically, the connection depends on the server. It maybe be possible that at some point, the server went busy due to a lot of requests going at the same time.
