I've read the previous thread regarding connection problems, and have a similar issue.
I have advanced web hosting with BT. I have set up a SQL user, created a database and imported my sql file in PHPmyadmin without any problems.
I've entered the correct info as below, and am sure that is correct.
DB Name: wordpress_mywebsite_com
User: username123456
Pass: password
Host: localhost
BUT All I get is the old "cannot connect to database" error message. I've tried all sorts of different combinations to no avail. Does anyone have any hints or tips?
I read somewhere that there maybe a permissions issue? Could anybody shed any light on this. BT have not been able to help with this issue.
Any ideas?
Hi RaspberryBoo,
Assuming you are not using your own Sql server and are using the BT supplied one.
The Hostname will be in the format of sqlxxxxx.carrierzone.com, this can be found by logging into the website centre and clicking on the "Website management tab" then "Database manager".
Just select username of the database then you will see the SQL Host Name for your hosting.
