Hi everybody !!
two things, the first is that I have tried utilising the photo album facility and using FTP I can upload photos to a directory in my public directory. The only problem is that the link address created by ESW is http://mgstox.co.uk/PhotoAlbums/album_1248166336
which is not via the public directory hence I get the forbidden message when I click on the link. As the link is automatically generated by ESW is there any way I can edit it to point via the public directory.
Secondly, I have published a jalbum photo album to my website using the "ftp.mgstox.co.uk" and username, password details. When I click on the created link on my website I get the 404 not found error. Should I be publishing to somewhere else ???
Any help greatly appreciated especially as my website is photo based !!!!
Cheers

Dave,
you're a star. Managed to get photos uploaded and published. I can now start designing the main page of the website.

if you were to upload your photos to the following folder /photosPhotoAlbums/album_1248166336 then they should be available in the album tool for inclusion. However, you still need to publish the album using the the Publish button in the album tool, as this will create the thumbnail page which makes all the photos viewable. I would suspect that you have not yet done this.
Don't worry about 'public' not being included in the published URL. It is never included. Essentially the public folder IS http://www.mgstox.co.uk/
With regards to jalbum, you should be publishing to the public folder if you want the site to display on http://www.mgstox.co.uk/, although if you would prefer it to display on a subfolder, eg http://www.mgstox.co.uk/album then you would publish to the folder /public/album. You can pretty much publish jalbum to anywhere you like depending on your own preferences.
