HELP! Cancelled months ago but Bills keep coming!

Dont no where this should be posted as people keep telling me different things as usual.

Please help us.  I am writing on behalf of my father as he is so distressed at having to deal with BT for the last 5 months on the phone and getting nowhere, i was hoping that we could sort something out online as he has tried everything on the phone and wasted many hours on hold being passed from person to person to no avail, he now does not know where to turn. i hope someone can point us in the right direction otherwise i guess its OFCOM.

In March my father retired and closed his buisness thus closing his buisness phoneline and broadband with BT as he no longer needed them.  He phoned BT in the middle of March to ask for the final bill for the buisness line and broadband and was told that the final bill would be generated after April 6th and that the phoneline and broadband would be stopped and cancelled on 29th March.

The phone line is cancelled and inactive.

On June 13th he received a bill for £165.50, he rang BT to ask if this was the final bill that he was told would be sent after April 6th, he was told NO this was for broadband and that the service had not been cancelled.  After a long conversation BT agreed it was a mistake as they could see the phoneline was in active and had definitly been cancelled so there could'nt of been broadband on a line that had already be disconected and cancelled.  They said they would amend the bill and send a final bill deleting the broadband charges.

Over the next few weeks following this phone call several of the same bill arrived for £165.50 for broadband on a cancelled line.  Again he rang BT and again they said yes its a mistake and that they have sorted it out and will send the amended final bill.

Again more of the same bill arrived.  Rang again at the end of July and once again went through all the details and once again was told it was a mistake and that it had all been sorted and my dad asked again are you certain that it is all sorted and you will send the final bill, he was told yes it has been sorted on the system and the amended final bill will be sent in september deducting the broadband costs, and was promised that he would receive no more letters or bills.

He has now received a futher 9 bills after this conversation and the most recent one today is threatening to cut him off listing the cancelled phoneline AND his personal phoneline which is now provided by plusnet and has not been with BT since March. surely BT can't threaten to cut off a phoneline provided by another company that my father is paying for.

This has gone on for far too long, my father just wants to pay the FINAL bill so he can get on and enjoy his retirement, its the last thing to tie up and everyone he speaks to says its sorted and promises its fixed and no one can seem to actually sort it out.  This is turning into harressment and if somebody can't help to sort it out i will have to contact COMMUNICATIONS OBUDSMEN, OFCOM, WATCHDOG, social media whoever i can to sort out what should of been a simple process.
