Incompatibility between SMS to voice and Call Sign services?

I think I've discovered a fundamental incompatibility between the "voice text" and Call Sign services. Or possibly just a misconfiguration at the exchange.

I have Call Sign (distinctive ring cadence for incoming calls to a second number) and an SMS-capable phone.

Text messages sent to the main number appear on the phone, and everything works as expected.

Text messages sent to the Call Sign number don't go to the phone (I don't mind that) but instead get converted to a voice message, which is then forwarded to the phone: a call from 0845 6021111 is received. If I pick up this call I can listen to the message. So far so good.

BUT:

If I don't pick up the call it is not directed to the 1571 service attached to the main number.

I can't dial into the text store to retrieve new or saved messages, presumably as the CLI sent by my phone is that of the main number. There seems to be no way to access the Voice Text messages sent to the Call Sign number other than by answering the incoming call from 0845 6021111.

Which is unfortunate, as I saved an important message to deal with later by pressing "2", but I now can't access it!

Any suggestions?
