Hi
We've just had an email stating we are at 90% of 100gb usage.
Apparently we can't see what usage we have used over the month(s).
Ever other provdior we were with before, we could log onto it.
Can someone confirm this, bt chat said it wasn't possible and I had to ring up. Why should I have to start a chat or ring up just to check my usage!!
The whole point of monitoring it is so you can adjust as you go, when it gets to 90% well that's too late! I've had to turn off the line and use the backup.
Cheers
Jon

Why are you getting to that level?
Monitoring is fine but you still need to undertand what te connnection is being used for or you will have the same issue next month.
What devices do you have connected? Chack and se that someone is not continually streaming "Junk TV" instead of working ...
If all your connections are PC based, get a third party monitor and have that running on all devices which then report daily so not only can you see the totals but who is using it.

I can turn on monitoring on individual ip's on the router, but I don't want to be monitoring staff.
I know whey it's high this month, but would still like to monitor it then adjust balancing if needed. Whereas now I have no option but to turn off the line, to avoid the additional costs.

Surely you should be monitoring staff ... if they are streaming video to their desk every afternoon, for example, they cannot be working.
You need to see if it is one or more that is using large amounts of data and if so why.
Then, you need to consider if you are on the right package ... moving up for £5 / month (check the actual price - but not far out) to an unlimited level would be a wise investment.

I see your point. But it imiplies that they cannot be trusted if we monitor them.
It's certain software downloads/replication etc that are the big data usages. My point is that I cannot easily see what our usage is per month.
So difficult to see if it's worth upgrading the service.

Yes,I too agree. Even we don't know what we are using in it.BT should do something for the end users to let them check in their side how much they are using and how much is left

I was under the impression that the BT Infinity service was for residential and not business use. Is this not the case?

Thanks for the link. When I spoke to BT back in January I was told it was a residential service as BT wanted business users to move to Leased Lines. Have check our business number with their service but it does not confirm whether we can get this service in out local area.
