I currently have a BT phone line along with a Pipex business broadband connection as a separate service. I now want to add a second BT phone line along with BT Infinity for Business but it seems you need to have a BT phone line before you can sign up for Infinity. Does anyone know if BT do Infinity with a new phone line bundle? Or should I go for BT Business Broadband first and then upgrade to Infinity afterwards?
I want to keep the existing BT line and Pipex broadband as a fall-back in case of a fault on the Infinity connection.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
Andy
Usually, you can get it as a package. But the phone line needs to be installed first before puttin DATA(Infinity) to it.
There doesn't seem to be a way to order them both at the same time online. I know that there's fibre available in my area, but when I went to place a package order it told me I was having 8meg. No thanks.
When I tried to place an order for Fibre, however, it asked me for my phone number but also asked me to call 0800 028 2302 if I wanted to to order a phone line and Infinity. Might be the only way you can do it. I certainly wouldn't recommend getting the ADSL first and trying to upgrade; they're utterly different technologies and will probably just confuse matters.
Good luck.
Thanks for the comments, I've since had an online chat session with a BT adviser who has given me a number to call for combined new line/Infinity installation so I will be calling them today.
Incidentally I was hounded all of yesterday afternoon by TalkTalk sales people trying to sell me the same thing (new phone line, broadband plus their 40 Mbit/s FTTC option) - I don't know whether this is coincidental or if they monitor the BT forums for likely targets? I have my doubts about the TalkTalk alternative as I can't get a straight answer from them over whether I can have 8 static IP addresses and run mail, DNS and web servers on my TalkTalk Fibre connection.
