Laptop Freezes when using USB port for anything.

Hi Guys, I have a Fujitsu Siemens AMilo Li 1718 laptop, It runs on Vista Home premium. Recently I had my USB netgear wireless plugged in and computer went in sleep. Ever since then I can't get any of the USB ports to my laptop. I tried everything including using the Microsoft recommended patches, including down grading to XP pro using SP1.

In Vista when i plug in anything USB related it does not recognize it, and in XP if I do the same the computer Freezes. I even tried removing references in Registry

  but no luck

Any help will be much appriciated.

so the laptop is dual boot then?

my pc does this and the reason is the usb port itself is faulty.

one of them when a usb device is plugged in it resets the pc 😞

luckily i have spare ones on the back
