Migrated last Thursday and still having problems. Started with me wanting to keep BTconnect address as my primary address. I was pressured into accepting a domain related address. Have had several phone calls and BT personnel adjusting my outlook to accept both BTconnect address and my web related domain name addresses. Things got worse when my password got changed again today, despite having had assistance in changing it 2 days previously.
MAIN PROBLEM NOW: Very often when I send/ receive I get the same message I have had previously, even where I have deleted message in MS outlook (as opposed to web outlook). Now I want to leave message on server, as I have several pcs and laptops set up to receive messages, so I want to keep a copy on all these machines. BUT I DON'T WANT 10 of them!!
Strangely it seems to be only messages that I am receiving as a blind copy (ie bcc). Of course many of these are junk mail but not all. I can direct some into a separate folder, but I keep getting some over and over. Only thing BT can say is Either turn on 'delete from Server' within Outlook or go to web outlook each day and move them into a separate folder, but surely I can't be the only one having this problem???????
Can anyone help?
Many thanks, Jesper
This is a bit of a head scratcher,
i have spoken with a few people on my end about this for you and here is what we think.
one of the emails may be corrupted on the webmail its self - if you login to the webmail and delete all the bcc emails from the webmail, this may stop the issue
It may be an issue with the mail clients
do they all have exactly the same settings ? i.e. if you have this set up to remove from the server after a set number of days is this the same timescale on every client?
we often see this type of issue if some one is using a unlicensed mail client, are you certain that all versions of your client are fully licensed?
these are some steps that you could take to resolve the issue - please let me know how you get on Jesper
thanks for your time
Hello Burkem
Thanks for your time.
I have a number of accounts set up all using the same pst, 2 are btinternet, 3 are btconnect or my domain name through BT so all the mail clients are licensed. My only recent change is in the migration from BTconnect to office 365.
I previously got all my emails to my domain name address to my (primary) btconnect address. To enable this to continue we have set up both the bt address and my new domain primary address. The info alius on the latter is the one that gets all the bccs.
I have taken your advice and deleted all these on webmail and we see what happends from here, but I don't want to continue to do that. Cheers, Jesper
If this does not work i think that we may have to get you to contact my self or one of my colleagues on the livechat desk you can get through to us here
