Port Forwarding Problem

I have set up Port Forwarding on these ports 80, 554, 555, 556, & 557 and these all work fine and tested.

I need port 558 opening, for some reason when I set the port forwarding up on 558, when it comes to test, it says the port is still closed. The ports are seperately forwarded (as in I havent used the range option) When I tried 554-558, the same problem occured.

I have checked the settings numerous times to see if anything is wrong and it isnt. Is there any reason this port will not open?

Im doing this on behalf of a Gym and the ports are being used for the on site CCTV.

The router is BT Business Hub 2701HGV-UK.

Thanks in advance.

There's a couple of reasons the port will show closed, one is that the port rule hasn't been added (that you said you've done), and the other is the device isn't actively listening on that port to respond to a port query. A port showing closed doesn't necessarily mean that it's not being forwarded.

Go to ping.eu and hit port check, stick the IP in the box and enter port 558 in the box, hit Go a few times just to ramp some entries into the log. Next on the router go to Settings> Logs> Firewall log - scroll to the bottom as new entries start from the bottom and look for dport=580 see if the packet is stopped or if it says Session Matches User Pinhole Packet Passed. If it shows as passed then the router is doing it's job, if it shows as Unknown Inbound Session Stopped then the router is stopping the packet.
