Hi
Having problems sending e-mails from my clinic booking system via btconnect. Have previously used my btinternet account successfully using outgoing mail settings: smtp.btinternet.com, port 25, ssl not enabled but authentication on.
Have tried various settings including those supplied by btconnect (which were smtp.outlook.com , port 587, ssl enabled and authentication on.) However despite trying all combinations of settings the mail will not go. Any help/suggestions gratefully received.
Andy
Hi Andy,
are you still using a btinternet.com Address, if you are then using Smtp.outlook.com will not work,
I'm not aware of Any issue/changes to the btinternet.com mail platform which would cause this sort of issue,
might be worth contacting the btinternet.com support team see if they have made a change which would stop this,
Thanks
Plumly
Hi Plumly
Thanks for the reply.
No I'm trying to use my btconnect.com address as its work related e-mails but it won't work via btconnect.com. Previously I was using my btinternet.com address (my personal home e-mail) which worked fine. However, since upgrading from BT Option 1 broadband to BT Infinity at home (registered at my home phone number) whenever I try to send e-mails out from my booking system at work using my btinternet.com address, it results in my btinternet.com e-mail account being temporarily blocked and requiring me to re-set my password. I think it might be because BT Infinity does not like the e-mails (perhaps 5 to 8 a day in one batch) being sent from the work phone line and not the registered home one. So I've been trying to use btconnect.com but can't get the settings to work.
Thanks though; I will contact btinternet support to see if I can get some help.
All the best
