Hi
Looking at getting 6 lines hosted voip, can and how will the following work?
Each handset receiving all 6 numbers and that each line ringing will be identified,
Call comes in on one line, will you be able to transfer to another line (handset) like a pbx, will there be a call transfer cost?
Each handset being able to dial out on any of the lines as the user chooses?
Hope you understand my scenario

First of all, you can transfer calls internally for free (ie to your other voip phones).
Secondly, I dont think it is possible to achieve exactly what you describe, but you can get something close.
Each phone has its own number, which can be dialled directly and will show when dialling out.
You are also given a MADN number and HUNT GROUP number:
MADN - When called this will ring some or all of your phones at once.
HUNT - When called, the first avaliable line in the group will ring. (this is how most call centers work)
You can purchase geographical numbers (ie, 0207, 0131 etc) to mask the MADN etc, im not sure of the upper limit but you can have quite a few per line.
So, using the MADN number, you could give out 1 number and have all your phones ring at the same time..
Calling out is a different matter, each phone can only dial out using its own number.

Good post McDee.
I'll just add that there is no upper limit to the volume of geographic numbers currently.

Mc Dee
Thank you for your reply, some further questions,
Does that mean that you can only use the MADN number to ring all phones?, you cant have it so line 1 number rings on line 2 phone?
This is not truly a virtual pbx then as i was told by bt?
Thanks

Hi Mark,
You could have only two numbers in your MADN, so that line 1 and line 2 ring, but not line 3.
Your original post suggested you were interested in Call Transfer. This can be done on the BT Falcon handset.
