Solved after speaking to the sonicwall team
Turned out it was the MTU setting on the sonicwall was not configured correctly.
Default setting was 1500... Moving this down to 1404 and immediately was on surfing.
Hope this helps someone else if they ever run into this issue... havent seen it mentioned anywhere!
