Firstly, I am a serious novice with anything IT based so pleased bear with me and my limited knowledge.
My BT Business Infinity Hub was installed yesterday and I connected directly to this using my laptop with no problems. Today, I've set up my small business server (its very old piece of equipment but works fine) and everything was great. I then tried to connect using another workstation in the office and the LAN was connected and emails etc. were received and sent. However, for some reason I cannot connect connect to the internet on this workstation and neither can I connect to the internet using my laptop. The server is still working fine and I can access the internet via it but it seems that this connection has now stopped me being able to use any other equipment in the office - is there a simple solution for this please?
What do I need to do in my setup to enable me to be connected to the LAN plus have an internet connection please on other workstations?
I called the helpline but was told they checked the broadband connection and everything is fine and because the server is working its an internal problem and they cant help.
Many thanks for any help.
Nicky
Have you totally rebooted your PC s and Workstations?
If you get your Network Properties for your PC it will tell you te local IP address that the PC is using and the default gateway.
The Gateway should be the same address as the Hub.
Are your PCs set up to get their IP addresses from teh DHCP server (inside the hub) or are they fixed?
