I have looked at all of the BT products but remain thoroughly confused. This is our situation.
We run two companies and will be moving to one office, having previously operated a home office.
1. We need 2 different telephone numbers to differentiate the businesses. Do we need 2 lines or could we use a virtual number and divert to the main number, utilising CLI?
2. When someone calls we need to be able to tell whether they are ringing business A or B, so reception can answer as appropriately.
3. We have 4 offices in the building, so reception need to be able to transfer the call to the appropriate extension.
At this point I am assuming that simple CLI will do achieve this, and featureline phones seem OK?
But:
(1) what phone equipment do I actually need to achive this, handsets etc.
Also,
say a person dials in and the call is transferred to an extention. Will the phonew number be therefore engaged until such time as that call ends, as it would on a domestic line for example? If so, for 4 members of staff, how many "lines" do I actually need.
Very confused, assistance would be greatly appreciated.
