Hi , im hitting a blank and need soem advice,
I look after 55 sites across Uk. Since this morning 3 of the sites lost connection to the office. They communicate by talking to the Head office Ip address.
All sites are BT business broadand with Fixed IP addresses.
The router is enabled (today only for testing) to accept ping responces . I have tested this working from a nearby MCDonalds and in various sites remotely.
However i have three sites taht are no where near each other geographically that have broadband access but cannot get to the IP address. I contacted BT first line Business support who basically said that if the broadband is working they cannot help.
TraceRT responces time out after 7 pings and can confirm that all responses up until that point are BT IP addresses.
If no site could see the headoffice i would be screaming and shouting at BT but i have No idea where to go with this anomolie.
Tried restarting routers/PCs and Head office router
Tried turning off firewalls and antivirus
Tempted to try Hammer 🙂
Any ideas would be most appreciated.
The hammer could be a good idea especially if it is running BT. lol... Contacting them would be the first best thing.
seems to be a major outage today since 1pm, apparently due to be fixed by 3pm.....

i was getting weirdness like being assigned the wrong ip, chap authentication failing etc; currently its working, but i assume their radius server took a nosedive or something.
line test tool to report a fault isn't working, none of the telephone numbers that i can find actually work: 152, 154, 0845 6007020, 0800 800154 etc. how do we contact bt to report broadband issues when the broadband doesn't work?!
0845 600 7020 works - I have suffered teh outage but can get through to it.
The FTTC/Infinity helpdesk has a different number but that is fine too.
