Upgrading a btconnect Email lite account into office 365 home or small business

I note that Microsoft are at last rolling out their MS-Word and MS-Excel products for the iPAD.

These are free and they look great, but you cannot edit or create documents or spreadsheets on an IOS device in this native format unless you have a pucka Office 365 licence. This allows you to unlock features that allow you to do that.

What could be simpler than upgarading my btconnect provided "Email Lite" office 365 product into a "Home" or "Small Business" licence I thought?

..Well it turns out that a round-trip to the moon, or solving the Ukranian civil war threat would both be easier!

I do feel for BT - I mean, they are providing my "downgraded" PAYG btconnect email free of charge, so I wouldn't expect a full Office 365 licence, but heck.. I would expect them to be able to take money from me and let me upgrade, whilst retaining my btconnect.com email account.

Am I alone in this? - I doubt it.

If there are even 1000 other PAYG btconnect accounts out there, then that is a million pound opportunity for income to BT over the next ten years.

But do the Office 365 sales team know about the Microsoft Office products in the IOS platform or how Office-365 interacts with it? - No, they don't seem to.

Has anyone else battled through this maze and come out with an Office-365 account that retains their @btconnect.com suffix?

Thanks in anticipation..

Tim
