We've been desperate for fibre to be established in the area and now it's here, we were so pleased looking to get it connected. Then we hit a huge issue that nobody seems to be able to work out how to sort / willing to care enough to sort.
Our account with BT (Broadband enhanced + digital line) is connected to the following address (without our business name attached) - "Nameless Council Yard", MadeUp Street, Made up Town, P05TCD). BT have advised previously they cannot change for reasons only known to themselves but i'm hoping this can indeed be changed.
Openreach have recently connected the supply to the street and assigned the connection to the following address - "Business Name", MadeUp Street, Made up Town, P05TCD
As you'll see, practically same address except the title name. This discrepancy means I can get fibre broadband at the "openreach" address but not at the "BT" address - even though they are exactly the same place, same building, same connection, same everything. I don't thinkg I have the option of closing the "BT" account and setting up a new with the "openreach" address as I am still in contract and I need the same landline number for my business.
I've spoken with BT who have stated I need to speak to their move team but that has only muddied the waters and i'm either being passed round people who don't understand what to do or getting blanked off the people who insist they can sort it. Obviously my preference would be to have a single address with my business name in it rather than the generic council yard which is causing issue.
Can a moderator please take control and sort for me?
