Guest Wi-Fi - - Change SSID & Set Password

Currently have a Business SH2 on which it is not possible to do either of these.  Is there any other BT Business product that does?  BT Whole Home Wi-Fi page describes how to  (can't get FTTP for some time yet)

Thanks for your reply.  but I'm not sure how that would help as the guest wi-fi settings are on the router, and if it uses the same SH2 as I have, setting a Guest Wi-Fi SSID and Password is not an option.

Guest Wi‑Fi – SSID & Password Control

Thanks for your question. You’re correct — with the BT Business Smart Hub 2, it isn’t currently possible to change the Guest Wi‑Fi SSID or set a custom password. The guest network is fixed and designed as a simple, open access option.

Regarding the BT Whole Home Wi‑Fi page you mentioned, this can be a bit misleading in a Business context. Whole Home Wi‑Fi is a consumer product and isn’t compatible with, or supported on, standard BT Business broadband services — particularly when using Business hubs like the Smart Hub 2.

Are there any BT Business alternatives?

At the moment:

  • There is no BT Business broadband router that allows customisation of the guest SSID or password in the way described on the Whole Home Wi‑Fi pages.
  • These features are typically available on enterprise‑grade Wi‑Fi solutions, rather than standard BT Business broadband equipment.

Workarounds (if custom guest access is required)

Some customers choose to:

  • Use a third‑party managed Wi‑Fi system (e.g. mesh or access points) connected to the BT Business service, which allows full control over SSIDs, passwords, and guest policies.
  • For larger or more complex setups, consider BT Managed or Enterprise Wi‑Fi solutions, where guest networking can be fully configured — availability depends on contract and location.

@AlanM1 Thank you for the comprehensive response, which confirms my findings. It is disappointing to find that the consumer product offers more than that available to small business. I have considered third party systems but will wait until we are able to get FTTP and Ultrafast Broadband in this rural backwater!
