How do I keep btconnect.com email addresses and emails ?

KRIS

Please note that I am non technical! l have BT business broadband (at home) which also gives me @btconnect.com email addresses. I have many important @btconnect.com emails stored on the BT servers only. I would like to end the BT business broadband but retain the @btconnect.com email addresses and emails. Are there any proven ways of doing this? Is it any easier if I purchase BT residential broadband rather than a BT competitor? Thank you for your help.

Hi KRIS

There is no way to retain the BTconnect email address if you cease the associated BT Business broadband.

Hi Beth,

Many thanks for your reply. I am surprised that I can not pay to keep the @btconnect email addresses.

The existing emails are on BT webmail only.

In order to retain these emails can they be downloaded eg via outlook and if so how?

If not, is there another way of retaining these emails?

Thank you.

Hi KRIS,
You should be able to download emails individually. If you open each email you’d like to retain, go to the settings or options within the email (usually shown as three dots or “More”) and you should see an option to download or save it. I’m not aware of any other direct way to retain emails via webmail. You may find alternative methods or additional guidance by searching online in a web browser.

Thanks

Hi Hannah,

Thank you for your reply and suggestions

I have thousands of emails and attachments in 'sent' and 'in' boxes that I need to retain.

Hence unfortunately downloading emails individually would take months.

On line searches indicate a solution along the lines of if I 'purchase a business domain name and BT link the @btconnect.com email addresses to the domain name the @btconnect email addresses can be retained'.

(I actually had a domain name may years ago).

Is there any potential solution involving the purchase of a domain name?

Thank you

Hi KRIS

No, we no longer provide domains.

Hello Kris,

Have a look at Thunderbird. I use this for my emails as a POP3 account (like local folders for emails). btconnect stopped a while ago and personally happy with how I manage these emails. There was a post on this a while ago. Go and have a look. https://business.forums.bt.com/t5/Email-and-hosting/SOLUTION-FOUND-migrating-BT-business-email-offic....

Thank you for this.

I have had a quick look but didn't understand it. I will try again but fear it is beyond my technical ability.
