New Broadband service over fibre

I called in to Sales to request a new BT Business service, broadband and phone. I made it very clear to the Sales rep that it was a "new" service i.e. there is no fibre to the building from the street (the building is not new, just the service is new), however there is fibre at the pole on the street. The rep confirmed that Fibre is available to me.

I signed a contract and the equipment (router and phone) would be delivered to me.

Shortly after signing up I received an email stating that in 10 days time the service would be activated and all I had to do was plug everything in. WHAT was  I supposed to plug it into, there is no ONT, I had already told Sales this.

No problem,  I will just call Sales and they can arrange for Openreach to do the install -NOT.

Sales forwarded me to Contract Control (offshore) . At first, after explaining everything (again) they said it sounds like I need a few WiFi extenders and they would send them to me - WHAT?

After being put on hold for 10 minutes the manager came on and said, sorry there is nothing we can do. you will have to wait until the due date in 10 days time and then call in to repair - WHAT!

This is insane,  I have a business to run,  I can see this running into months 😞

Hi superman

I'm sorry to hear about this - it sounds like somehow the order has been placed against an address key that has it recorded as having infrastructure already in the premises, resulting in the order going as a self-install.

Can you please send over a private message with the account/order details?
