We have had a new FTTP install on Thursday, we had an older VDSL running through the NTE5 Master socket and micro filter.
Nothing has arrived from BT apart from a dect IP phone, no new network hub or anything.
I tried the old router and plugged it into the fibre box but it didn’t sync up at all.
Is there anyway of using a 3rd party router?
No help here 😂
Hi Wbssc
It is unusual for an order to be placed to convert you from FTTC to FTTP without a router being installed, can you please send over a direct message so I can take some account details?
In regards to a 3rd party router, yes you can use this, you will just need the PPPoE username and password - this is also something I can provide once I have taken account details and passed security with you.
Apparently it was lost in the post, I was able to use a 3rd party router using green-light@service.*******.com it is t giving maximum speed but it is working, seems to be capped at 100mb
Hi Wbssc
When you say it is capped at 100mbps, do you mean the 3rd party router or are you using the BT router now?
3rd party router although I can’t remember off hand what speed we are on.
Apparantly the router has been ordered
Hi Wbssc,
If the new router is on the way then once setup it will allow full access to the speed you have agreed to. Do you want me to check and make sure the router is on the way?
If you need any assistance with anything after the setup please do come back to us and we will do all we can to support you.
Thank you
Adam
