Hello there, I am having no luck with OneUtilityBill, they have sent an engineer round to install BT Business FTTP, he upgraded the ONT to the property to a 2.5Ghz model and confirmed the line was all good and left.
I plugged in a TP-Link router provided from OneUtilityBill, but it’s asking for PPPoE details to authenticate the internet connection.
I assumed they would have entered this information before sending the router or provided it in a letter or an email.
They have told me that I don’t need the username or password for the connection, and that all I needed to do was plug the router into the ONT, enter the WiFi password and I’ll be good to go.
This isn’t the case, and after spending all afternoon on the phone with them, they have told me that they can’t provide this information.
So the problem… I’m now without internet until I’m either provided these details or they send another router.
The internet is provided by BT Business under OneUtilityBill’s account, is there any chance someone from BT can help me with these details - I’m happy to provide my ID and proof of address, if this helps?
Im aware this isn’t BT’s fault, and wish I had just gone direct in the first place.
Thank you in advance everyone.
Hi tauntonguy92
We can't provide any account details to someone who isn't named on the account with us. If you have a static IP on your broadband connection, you need your PPPoE details to pick this up. However, if you just have a dynamic connection, you can use these generic details:
username: bthomehub@btbroadband.com
password: ADSL
