BT says I’m in a contract but I never agreed to it.

I’m fuming …My BT broadband/telephone/tv contract expired some time ago and I did not renew the commitment because I was going to move flats and wanted the flexibility. So I have been on a pay as you go since then . Now the time has come to cancel it as I will switch to virgin and they told me that I renewed the contract in feb 2022 for 2 years. For proof they referred me to an email they sent me in feb2022 that said thank you for your order and said that since I did not go back within 14 days then it’s legally binding. I challenged them to prove my agreement to be sent this in the first place and they just hung up on me. How do I escalate? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I am sorry about this but we would not be able to assist with a residential service as this is a BT Business page. Residential can be called on 0800 800 150 or you can visit their community for advice.

Thank you,

Adam
