Is btconnect.com being discontinued?

A BT local business adviser has told me that the end is nigh for btconnect.com accounts. Has an end-of service date been communicated to users? (If so, I've missed it). Thanks.

Hello,

Because btconnect addresses sit on aging, legacy Microsoft tenant structures that BT has been slowly moving away from, IT professionals generally view these accounts as living on borrowed time. Relying on a legacy free/bundled domain format for a modern business is increasingly risky
