BT Versatility switch to digital

Videostar

For many years I have had a BT Versatility system (this is my second system). The system does "what it says on the tin" and has always been brilliant, once we eventually managed to get it set up to requirements. At the end of June this year, my analogue line contract terminated and because I was led to believe the Versatility behaved like a normal analogue phone I purchased a router that offered a connection to plug in an analogue phone, intending to plug in the Versatility in place of a phone and paid for a SIP phone number to be able to use the Versatility.

The Versatility behaved perfectly when it was disconnected from the analogue line but now on the SIP line, I can make outgoing calls without any problem but as soon as any incoming call is received, the Versatility seems to answer it immediately (the RED line2 in use light comes on - line two was the normal incoming analogue line on the Versatility) and it cuts off the incoming caller although the line light remains red on the V8 telephone until the speakerphone bar is pressed to end the call.

Is there something I need to change in the programming to resolve this or is it not solvable ? I need to retain the Versatility to keep using 3 x BT VIP long distance phone extensions (which work brilliantly using the "Broadband Module" in the Versatility and connected via Ethernet cable). I am close to retirement so don't want to replace the phone system. Incidentally, the SIP line works perfectly with a pair of BT DECT cordless phones, connected in lieu of the Versatility until the problem is resolved.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Best regards "Videostar"

Hi Videostar

As we no longer maintain PBX systems, I unfortunately can't assist but potentially another customer might have advice here.
