I’m currently renewing my contract and BTB are trying to charge me for an ATA to plug into my router (which doesn’t have a phone socket) to enable my existing digital compatible phones to work. Has anyone else had this experience? I thought transition to Digital Voice was meant to be free.

Are you a business or residential customer? Digital Voice is the residential product. Business has different product offerings.

If you're a BT Business customer, it's most likely Cloud Voice that is being offered to you. Digital Voice is a separate product for home customers (which I know is the focus of an advert campaign right now)
My terminology so you’re probably correct. But the charges that BTB are foisting on businesses as a result of this transition to digital are obscene. If this was happening to consumers there would be uproar.
