We have a W73H yealink handset, that has been working fine since it was set up.
We have only just realised that it had stopped working.
The handset is searching for the base but will not link to it.
I have gone through the resetting process but nothing works.
The base has all three lights working, but it will not connect the phone.
Hi Nigelparren
If you've tried resetting the phone and it's still not working, please contact our technical support team for further diagnostics.
Since your base lights are all green, the issue likely lies in a broken registration link; try putting the base into registration mode by long-pressing its paging button until the LED flashes, then select Registration > Register Handset on the phone. If that fails, ensure the handset isn't trying to connect to a different Base ID in the "Select Base" menu.
1. Check the handset is registered to the base
Even if it was working before, it may have become unregistered.
On the handset:
Menu → Settings → Registration → Register Handset
You should then see the base appear. If it asks for a PIN, the default is usually 0000.
2. Put the base in registration mode
On the W70B/W73P base unit:
Press and hold the button on the front until the top LED flashes, which means it’s ready to pair.
Then retry registering the handset.
3. Check the base connection
Since all three lights are on, it suggests the base has power and network, but please double‑check:
4. Try a full reboot
5. If the handset still says “Searching for Base”
It may need a factory reset:
Handset: Menu → Settings → Advanced → Reset (default PIN is 0000)
After resetting, try to register again.
