Requesting a specific local number

Hi. I know it used to be possible to request a specific local number (providing it was available) via a specialist sales team, but is this still possible to do? If so, who do I contact? I have tried speaking to the team on 0800 800 152, but they do not seem to have the ability to do this.

It depends if the number is active or not, the Sales team are the best people to call - I would advise to call 0800 098 4747

I spoke to sales on the number you suggested, but they also don't seem to have the ability to provision a specific number, unless it has been very recently deactivated.

There are some older forum posts from BT staff that said there is a specialised sales team that deals with specific number orders (not the normal sales line). Is this not still the case?
